Here’s this week’s video blog which is about my thoughts on how I managed to run that 10km on Monday morning. I learned about my motivation and that sometimes you’ve got to just get out of your own way because there’s no one else holding you back…
If this resonates with you it’s likely to resonate with your friends too…I’d love you to share it with someone you care about who’s sabotaging their own success.
That’s so lovely, Rebecca, a massive WELL DONE! As a former runner (now my hips no longer like it) I remember too well the joy of eachieving those goals, I remember trai ing for the first 5K, doing laps, alone, in Ladywell Park training area, 1 lap x 400m, so I could figure out the distance. And my first 5K was with my friend Jo, the Sri Chimnoy run in Battersea Park. The absolute joy and elation. Then my first half marsthon. Hastings. Honestly, if you can do 10K you can do a half marathon!
I am struggling with a lot of issues, I am no longer the fearless runner. I am so afraid of flying that I have almost stopped travelling, I visit countries that I can reach by train, but it is often an awful, long and boring slog, unless I travel with my husband, taking a sleeper cabin and making it part of our holiday, with a meal in Paris etc…but it is cripplingly expensive and can only be done rarely. Ip even thinking about stepping back on a plane makes me cry. It has been 14 years now and I wish I could liberate myself from this horrible, disabling fear.
Thank you for yet another inspiring blog post and video (and also thank you!!! for the Maya Angelou video on fb, it was so moving and true!)..
