“Let others lead small lives but not you. Let others argue over small things but not you. Let others cry over small hurts but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands but not you.” — Jim Rohn
What do we do when circumstances that are not of our creation and seem beyond our control run the risk of derailing us completely?
What happens when external forces conspire to alter our life and the plans we were making for it?
It might be illness, it might be unemployment, it might be divorce or it might be losing our home………..how do or will we react?
After the initial shock that side wipes us sending us reeling, what happens? We so often become paralysed in shock and disbelief and are unable to think. The urge to bury our head, ignore the problem, deny it’s there and pray to God that it goes away is enormous. It’s often then that anger sets in, the rage against the person, the company, the illness, the world, we become a victim. Some of us decide to remain here for the rest of our lives in the hope that someone will rescue us, feel sorry for us and take care of us. I know this, I’ve been a victim at times in my life. Often as a victim we descend into despair and depression. These are dark days. Don’t stay there too long. Find help. Please.
Then the day dawns, we have an insight, when we accept the situation and decide we have a choice. We choose to move forward. We choose to decide for ourselves what we want for the rest of our lives. We decide not to be a victim. We choose to deal with the situation head on and take action. Whatever the outcome and there may be heartache along the way – we choose.
We choose to step out and grow our wings on the way down.
When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about. — Haruki Murakami
Loving your sparkly wings! B xx
